The Five Islands Press Prize is an initiative of previous Five Islands Press managing editor Kevin Brophy and the Centre for Creative and Cultural Research at the University of Canberra and Australian Poetry.

To be offered for the first time in 2021-2022 the prize aims to support and celebrate emerging poets, and honour publishers of new poetry.

This is an annual prize for a first already-published book-length collection of poetry by a poet living and writing in Australia.

The author of the prize-winning book will receive $2500 and the publisher will receive $1000.
